A moorland track for walkers across the Yorkshire Dales National Park leads to Great Britain's highest inn at 1732 feet amsl.The remote and peaceful setting of the famous Tan Hill Inn at the head of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.The Hagglund BV206 is used by the Army. Our vehicle is known as Old Peculiar. Designed for use in snow, the amphibious BV206 is just as capable over soft ground or even desert sand. 'Find the Inn'!Even in recent years, snowfall can make transport a little difficult... but it is wll worth the visit to enjoy the beautiful snowscapes on a clear day.At such a high altitude the views on a clear day in a snowy winter are very beautiful indeed... whilst a warm welcome awaits inside the Tan Hill Inn.
