The National Parks Dark Skies Festival is all about discovering, learning and enjoying the dark and the stars you can see as a result. What better way to explore the night sky than at the world famous Tan Hill Inn – a registered Dark Sky Discovery Site!
To kick off the Dark Skies Festival 2020 we have the FIRST PLANETARIUM show in the Yorkshire Dales…and its FREE!
So join us on our tour of the universe and explore the wonders of the night sky in our state of the art planetarium.

The planetarium documentary “The Hot and Energetic Universe” presents with the use of Immersive Visualisations and real images the achievements of the modern astronomy, the most advanced terrestrial and orbital observatories, the basic principles electromagnetic radiation and the natural phenomena related to the High Energy Astrophysics.

Please arrive early and make your way to the planetarium in our barn. You will then be put on a list for the next available planetarium show – this is a first come first served basis.
Each show lasts around 30 minutes.
